About the Role
As a Director - Tax Compliance and Advisory, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, primarily Corporations with cross-border structures (either US inbound or US outbound) and pass-through entities. Your role will encompass providing federal and international tax advisory services, managing tax compliance, and contributing to business development.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management: Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope, acting as the primary point of contact. Your clients will primarily be Corporations with cross-border structures and pass-through entities.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely final review and delivery of federal and state income tax compliances, including quarterly estimates.
Advisory: Provide federal and international tax advisory services to corporations.
Audit Assistance: Assist with federal and state audits, including correspondence, data compilation, and audit coordination.
Collaboration: Liaise with our offshore team regularly for the execution of tax compliances and advisory services.
Risk and Performance Management: Manage engagement risk and performance, including project budgets, resource planning, status, and financial metrics.
Business Development: Participate in and contribute to the marketing and business development activities of the firm.
Cross-Selling: Identify and leverage opportunities to cross-sell additional services to existing and new clients.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
10+ years in public accounting firms combined with advanced academic qualifications; active CPA (current and valid license required).
Strong technical skills in federal, international, and multi-state taxation. Knowledge of international tax aspects such as GILTI, FDII, 163(j), and related compliances like Form 5471, 5472, 8990, 8992, etc.
Experience in federal and international tax advisory matters, including tax-free reorganizations, tax due diligence, tax structuring advisory, withholding tax issues, etc.
Excellent technical knowledge of pass-through entity taxes.
Working knowledge of current and deferred tax provision (ASC 740).
Proficient knowledge of automated tax processing systems and Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel features, Thomson Reuters Gosystems, and tax research applications.
Excellent supervisory, analytical, and leadership abilities.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability with attention to detail and the capacity to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Highly motivated to engage in business development activities and contribute to the growth of the firm.
Well-organized and detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and compliance.
