Soil Scientist / AgronomistReference: PTA001379-BVJ-1Our client, an environmental projects company, is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual for the position of Soil Scientist / Agronomist in the Technical Business Unit located in Irene.Duties & ResponsibilitiesClient liaison to determine the needs of the client and to provide feedback.Develop and present solutions, proposals, and implementation plans to clients including but not limited to:Development of rehabilitation plansEvaluation of fertilizer needs from soil analysisSoil classificationPlant identificationCrop management plansPasture management plansRehabilitation assessmentsSoil impact assessments and evaluationSoil conservation and management plansNew project planning (scheduling), budgeting, and implementation.Manage the implementation of the projects according to general project management principles, including Gantt Charts, report writing, work delegation, and project budgets.Verify and report on project progress and financial performance.Promote and create awareness of services provided by the company.Extended fieldwork.Minimum RequirementsBSc Honors or Masters in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, Pasture Science, or Biology.At least three years' experience as an Agricultural / Agronomist / Environmental or Soil Scientist Consultant.Report writing experience and skills.Beneficial: Previous experience in an Agricultural or Mining consulting environment.Proven experience in the analysis and interpretation of soil quality parameters.Must be able to pass medicals, induction, and training certifications.Must be able to execute fieldwork and physical manual labor associated with fieldwork for extended periods of time in outdoor environments.Essential: Valid Driver's License.Must be willing to travel locally and abroad on occasions.Must have a valid passport.General Competencies Required for the PositionProject Management skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsProblem-solving skillsClosing DateSubmissions for this vacancy will close on the 27th of March 2024, however, you will still have the opportunity to submit your CV for this position until 18 April 2024.Please NoteThank you for submitting your CV to Marvel Placement Consultants.
