We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to lead the marketing function within our company in the FMCG/Retail sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that will increase brand visibility, enhance customer engagement, and drive sales across the fast-paced and competitive FMCG landscape. You will manage a team and collaborate closely with sales, product development, and external agencies to deliver impactful marketing campaigns that resonate with local consumers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for the FMCG product portfolio to drive brand awareness, product visibility, and sales growth.Lead end-to-end marketing campaigns, including advertising, digital marketing (SEO, SEM, social media), and in-store promotions.Analyse market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities in South Africa's FMCG sector to identify growth opportunities and market gaps.Work closely with the sales team to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and support revenue targets.Oversee product launches, ensuring that all aspects of marketing, from packaging to advertising, are optimized for success.Manage relationships with external agencies (creative, PR, digital) to ensure the successful execution of marketing campaigns.Monitor campaign performance using KPIs, and adjust strategies to improve effectiveness and ROI.Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact and profitability.Coordinate trade marketing activities, such as in-store promotions, point-of-sale materials, and merchandising efforts.Build and maintain strong partnerships with key retailers and distributors to ensure effective in-store execution and visibility.Lead consumer research projects to understand consumer behaviour, preferences, and trends in the FMCG sector.Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards in marketing, packaging, and advertising practices.Experience in influencer marketing and consumer engagement strategies.Growth in market share and brand visibility.Sales performance relative to marketing campaigns and promotions.Increase in consumer engagement across digital and traditional channels.ROI on marketing spend and adherence to budget.Successful execution of product launches and promotional campaigns.Retail performance of in-store marketing efforts (shelf visibility, promotional displays).

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or similar field.5+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in the FMCG sector in South Africa.Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies within the FMCG industry.Strong understanding of the South African consumer market and FMCG industry dynamics.Experience in digital marketing, including social media, e-commerce, and content marketing.Familiarity with trade marketing and retail channel strategies.Proficient in using marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, CRM systems, etc.) to measure campaign performance.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and external partners.Project management skills, with experience managing multiple campaigns simultaneously and meeting deadlines.Creative problem-solving ability, with a results-oriented mindset.Experience in managing brand portfolios and executing product launches in FMCG.Knowledge of South African FMCG retail landscape, including major supermarkets and distribution channels.Experience in Photography & Videography.

REMUNERATION

R35,000 To R40,000 Per Month (Negotiable)
