Principal/Senior Staff Engineer, Process Development (SMT Flex Foil Circuitry)

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the flex foil circuitry package design and integration of material and process in development projects to meet time, cost, and quality requirements.
• Actively seeking the knowhow of flex foil package designs, assembly, and material to ensure process and material capabilities are fully considered in Design Review.
• Ensure the product design matches with customer requirements and understand customers' technical needs.
• Lead investigation and analysis of problems, yield, and drive implementation of solutions.
• Respond and take necessary actions to address urgent production and customer problems.
• Able to coordinate and industrialize processes and logistics that fulfill the manufacturability requirements.
• Able to coordinate and prepare line documentation for manufacturing and audits.
• Able to understand and optimize the product cost and roadmap.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Material Science), Physics, or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Candidate with Product Design experience or with Flexible Foil Assembly experience will have a strong advantage.
• Technical knowledge in Flex Foil Design and Assembly with LEDs will have a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, systematic problem-solving approach, statistical knowledge, and a very careful and detail-oriented personality.
• Good report-writing and data analysis skills are required. An in-depth knowledge of CAD drawing, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project is required; knowledge of CAD simulation will be an advantage.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and very good communication skills to liaise between different departments/groups.
