Overall Purpose of The Role The Facility Manager reports to the contract manager and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility management across the two client sites. Main duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to: 1) Continued Operation of the site Facilities encompassing all elements of Facilities Management including but not limited to Buildings, Plant Equipment, Hard Services & Soft Services, etc. 2) Continued management of routine preventative maintenance, testing and inspection schedules to ensure that the facilities are operating safely and efficiently. 3) Maintain Operational Procedures, Preventive Maintenance Plans, Business Continuity Plans and Emergency Plans for Buildings and Utilities. 4) Prepare documents to issue requests for tenders and management of tender process. 5) Compare costs for required goods or services and deliver value for money. 6) Project manage, coordinate, and supervise third-party contractors, including checking that agreed work has been completed satisfactorily and any deficiencies addressed. 7) Ensure the buildings meet health and safety requirements and comply with relevant legislation. 8) Assist the local site Facilities Coordinators in directing, coordinating, and planning essential central services such as reception, mail, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling. 9) Operate a Building Management System and related functions. 10) Assist in planning best allocation and utilisation of space, resources and re-organising of premises. 11) Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences. 12) Support the local Green Teams/Energy Officers in achieving building environmental management objectives, including the identification and implementation of energy reduction and awareness programmes. 13) Attend local Building Management Committee meetings and address actions arising. 14) Support the local Safety Management Team in building management related matters. 15) Attend the site premises Monday-Friday each week during office opening hours or other times as agreed to deliver general services as set out above. Position Title: Facility Manager Location: Northern Region (Monaghan and Castlebar) Reporting to: Contract Manager This job description forms the basic requirements of your employment. Site Manager Rev 1 16) Being available to respond emergencies etc. as required. 17) Provision of records management that maintains business continuity in relation to Facilities Management. 18) Various ad-hoc tasks as they arise. Person Specification 1) Experience in facilities management or building services industry/consultancy. 2) Expertise or familiarity with M&E, HVAC and refrigerated equipment. 3) Familiarity with Building Management Systems. 4) Experience in project management and overseeing the work of external contractors. 5) Must possess a dynamic approach to achieving continuous improvement 6) Experience in building environmental/energy efficiency. 7) Excellent listening, oral, written and presentation skills. 8) Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and negotiation skills with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships. 9) Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of suite of MS Office applications (essential) and relevant facility management software, such as AutoCad 10) Flexible attitude with a can do work ethic and excellent problem solving skills. 11) Proficiency in the English language with excellent customer service and communication skills Qualifications and Experience 1) Relevant 3 rd level qualification (e.g. Building Services Engineer, Facilities management or equivalent). 2) Experience in tendering for services and project/contract management. 3) 3-5 years experience in similar role 4) Previous experience in a hands on M&E role. Working Pattern: 8:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
