The Senior Procurement Engineer will oversee the development and implementation of procurement processes and strategies that support our operational objectives. This role is essential for acquiring high-quality materials and services while optimizing costs. The ideal candidate should possess excellent negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, this position will manage CAPEX spending, procurement of indirect materials and equipment, engineering consumables, and services. Responsibilities CAPEX and Budget Oversight: Oversee procurement for large-scale CAPEX projects, ensuring adherence to budget constraints. Manage the procurement budget, providing regular reports on spending and identifying cost reduction opportunities. Oversee indirect material and equipment procurement. Supplier Network Development: Establish and maintain a robust supplier network for equipment, utilities, and facilities, focusing on contract facilitation to achieve cost savings and ensure high-quality supplies. Vendor Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability to ensure optimal vendor selection. RFP and Contract Management: Create, manage, and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), leading contract negotiations to secure favourable terms while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance to align procurement activities with production timelines and regulatory requirements. Inventory Optimization: Lead initiatives to optimize inventory levels, reduce procurement costs, and implement continuous improvement strategies within the procurement function. Quality Standards Assurance: Ensure all purchased materials and equipment meet regulatory and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Qualifications: Degree in Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 6-8 years of procurement engineering experience in the pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industry. Salary will commensurate with experience. Strong knowledge of indirect material and equipment procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the pharmaceutical industry. Excellent interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Strong negotiation and analytical skills focused on detail and accuracy, combined with a strategic mindset aimed at achieving cost savings and operational efficiency.
