This role is part of a newly formed leadership team, collaborating with other key senior leadership roles to set a future-focused direction for ENZ. The nature of the role

ENZ is looking for a visionary Group General Manager International & Sector Engagement to lead our offshore in-market activities and contribute to the development and execution of strategies that will shape the future of international education in New Zealand. Reporting directly to the newly appointed Chief Executive and as a key member of ENZ’s Leadership Team, this role will drive collaboration and foster key relationships nationally and on the world stage, opening doors that enable the delivery of ENZ’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Strategic leadership: Provide thought leadership and contribute to strategic thinking around market development and the role of ENZ.
  2. In-market leadership: Lead offshore in-market teams and activities, ensuring their alignment with ENZ’s strategy.
  3. Sector engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with soft diplomacy, NZ Inc agencies, education providers, and sector partners.
  4. Stakeholder management: Oversee the development of market plans, provide valuable sector intelligence, and ensure effective event and agent engagement to drive international student recruitment.
  5. Team leadership: Lead and inspire a team of up to seven, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and performance excellence.

What we are looking for

We are seeking an accomplished senior leader with a significant understanding of New Zealand’s education sector, international education policies, and global market dynamics. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in leading high-performing international teams, developing market-specific strategies , and navigating complex political and cultural landscapes . Exceptional skills in strategic thinking, relationship management, and business acumen are essential, alongside the ability to foster collaboration and build influential partnerships across cultures and sectors.
