Role Overview The Backend Engineer is a key role within the Coupang Play product organization, collaborating with designers, managers, and engineering teams to enhance user experiences. This role involves designing and developing systems that serve millions daily. What You Will Do Develop and maintain highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient backend systems Design micro-services-based systems and architectures that operate at scale Write modular, testable, reusable code, and create extensible APIs with thorough documentation Optimize applications for maximum speed and performance Formulate scalable and durable technical solutions that meet product requirements Occasionally work on front-end code with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript if necessary Mentor junior teammates to help them grow and develop their skills Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in server applications and distributed systems engineering Expertise in programming languages like Golang, Java, JavaScript, Node.js Proficiency with modern hyper-scale cloud computing solutions such as AWS or GCP Ability to work in an agile environment at scale Independent and self-driven Preferred Qualifications Experience in streaming media from an engineering perspective Ability to integrate and troubleshoot issues with mobile app to API integration Startup mindset and experience in startup companies Excellent verbal and written communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
