Key Responsibilities:

  1. Be the prime internal actor and technical contact for all matters related to control systems.
  2. Design of Control Systems & Instrumentation for Gas Processing, Refining & Petrochemical projects.
  3. Prepare ITB/RFQ packages.
  4. Follow UOP standards and practices, in compliance with Client-requirements.
  5. Develop, redact/issue/revise all Technical UOP specifications for Control Systems & Instrumentation discipline.
  6. Act as the Requisitioner for Control Systems & Instrumentation Packages and provide technical co-ordination for the purchase of Control Systems & Instrumentation components with Procurement.
  7. Provide technical follow-up and inspection reports to Group Leader and Project Manager for their follow-up, to ensure technically compliant and timely delivery of units from workshops contracted by UOP.
  8. Cover HAZOP, SIL reviews etc.
  9. Manage fabshop/vendors/suppliers, including local supervision and inspections/audits at shops.
  10. FAT/SAT for Control Systems & Instrumentation scope.
  11. Site supervision for Control Systems & Instrumentation scope at customer sites (if required).
  12. Collaborate closely with other team members from disciplines such as E&I, Process, Piping, Pressure Vessels and Project Management.
  13. Typical tasks will include, but are not limited to:
  • reviewing the Client's technical specifications and extracting the valve/instrumentation/control IO related information.
  • review and issue UOP Technical Specifications for Automatic Valves, Control Panels and instruments that are compliant with the Client's requirements and UOP standards and practices.
  • extract all relevant information from and contribute to the P&I Diagrams.
  • contact valve and instrument suppliers for information.
  • develop and issue valve datasheets.
Key Experience & Capabilities:
  1. Min. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Instrument Engineering or equivalent.
  2. 10 years' experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Power Plant projects.
  3. Experience with following systems:
  • DCS, ESD, Package Equipment Control Panels and interface protocols.
  • Compressor Control Systems, Machine Protection Systems.
  • Control / Automatic Valves.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills in English.
  • Ability to lead engineers, budget scope, manage change, and coordinate project deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstration on a daily basis of a high level of personal integrity.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes.
  • Ability to travel on business trips including lengthy business trips to site during construction and commissioning.
