About the role This is an excellent opportunity to join the dynamic and innovative Sinoasia Alliance Group Limited (Malaysia) as an Officer in the Division of Legal Affairs (Corporate Commercial). As a key member of the legal team, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal advice and support to the organisation's corporate and commercial activities. What you'll be doing
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documents
  • Providing legal guidance on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic initiatives
  • Advising on regulatory compliance, including corporate governance and industry regulations
  • Supporting the legal aspects of new business development and tender responses
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless legal services
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the legal function
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification
  • Admitted to Practise Law in Malaysia
  • 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, preferably within a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and contract management skills
  • Solid understanding of Malaysian corporate and commercial laws and regulations
  • Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially-focused legal advice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, solution-oriented and able to work independently
  • Proficient in Written and Verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required; fluency in Cantonese is a plus
  • Priority to candidates available to join in January 2025
