We are seeking an experienced network data analyst to join our Network Observability organization. The role will be responsible for execution on our network capacity planning strategy and best practices. Under the direction and leadership of the Network Capacity Planning Product Manager, the primary responsibility of this analyst is to gather information from networking monitoring tools and system logs, analyze the information to make informed decisions regarding the enterprise network’s capacity and performance. WHAT YOU WILL DO Functional Responsibilities: Collaborate with demand management, network teams, and business units to understand current and future network requirements for capacity planning aligned with business goals. Conduct thorough analysis of network traffic, utilization rates, and performance metrics using predictive analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Incorporate historical data and consider projected growth and scalability requirements. Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders, including KPIs, utilization metrics, and recommendations for optimizing network capacity. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to capacity failures, network congestion, and implement measures to minimize performance degradation and outages. Participate in cross-functional projects, collaborating with project teams to incorporate capacity planning requirements into project plans and timelines. Professional Competencies: Possess interpersonal and communication skills, able to write clear and concise proposals and presentations Ability to coordinate work tasks with others for timely completion and to avoid potential setbacks Ability to articulate complex and technical ideas accurately and clearly Ability to adapt current work processes to meet emerging needs and the ability to evaluate new ideas and proposed methods for practicality and ease of implementation Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent corporate working experience Familiarity with key components and best practices of Observability 5+ years of strong engineering or operations experience with the components of a large global network infrastructure such as Routers, switches, LAN/SD-WAN, Load Balancer, Wireless, Cloud Networking and etc More than 1 year of specific experience in analytics or able to clearly articulate data driven decision making process Familiarity with network monitoring, reporting, and observability tools such as: SevOne, Logic Monitor, Thousand Eyes, Moogsoft, Dynatrace, NetBrain and/or Elastic Administration experience with monitoring tools in creating policies, fine-tuning parameters and setting proper thresholds will be added advantage Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, and/or Python or willingness to learn one or more of them Experience in Ansible will be added advantage Experience in production of regular capacity report which will highlight actionable items based on the logic used.
