You’re likely to have managed teams of various diversity and seniority, including remote teams. Your leadership mindset and hands-on knowledge of the latest digital media tools and trends, from programmatic to paid social and search, will allow you to create impactful media solutions for clients. You will leverage data-driven insights to craft innovative media strategies that meet the fast-paced needs of our clients. Your role is integral to ensuring that the media team delivers exceptional results while fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Vision Strategic Leadership: Set and execute the strategic vision for the media department, aligning it with the company’s overall objectives and mission. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the media team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages innovation and excellence. This includes recruiting the right talent into the team, resource planning, training, and skills development. Change Management: Drive change initiatives within the media department, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and AI technologies as Mediatropy is on a path to completely transform into an AI-driven organization. Team Management Talent Acquisition: Participate in the hiring process for new team members and subject matter experts, ensuring the team is equipped with diverse, top-tier talent. Development: Implement career progression plans and conduct regular reviews to retain top talent and ensure continuous professional development. Workload Management: Review and assess team workload through weekly WIP meetings, ensuring optimal resource allocation and productivity. Training: Coordinate and lead media training sessions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to keep the team at the forefront of industry trends. Business Development Client Acquisition: Collaborate with the Account Management team to qualify leads and identify business opportunities in new media, technologies, and verticals. You will be the first point of contact for all media-related briefs and leads. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary media contact for major accounts. Strategic Planning: Develop and present comprehensive media strategies that address client needs, target audiences, and business objectives in close collaboration with creative and technology departments. Thought Leadership: You will participate in industry events as a thought leader from Mediatropy, pen blog articles for our website, and proactively participate in award shows. Media Strategic Planning and Partnership Campaign Strategy: Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of digital media campaigns across various channels, ensuring alignment with client KPIs. You will lead the Associate Director and the Digital Media team in ensuring that the best strategy and optimization processes are being implemented at all times. Innovation: Identify and implement cutting-edge media opportunities, including emerging platforms like Tik Tok, Podcasts, and Twitch. Develop new AI-driven media services. Partnerships: Negotiate and secure favorable terms with media platforms and third-party vendors, and explore out-of-the-box partnerships that drive value. Performance Monitoring: Regularly analyze campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams for continuous improvement. Operational Excellence Process Optimization: Lead efforts to streamline media operations, enhancing efficiency and ensuring the highest standards of delivery. Risk Management: Develop risk management strategies to anticipate and mitigate potential challenges in media execution. Data Governance: Ensure the integrity and compliance of all media-related data, maintaining alignment with regulatory standards. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in digital media planning, buying, and optimization, with a strong track record of managing multi-channel campaigns. Leadership: At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role, with proven ability to manage and inspire high-performing teams. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in ad servers, Google Analytics, and major ad platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.), with experience in SEM, Programmatic, Social, Display, Affiliate, and KOL channels. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making and campaign optimization. Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex media strategies to both clients and internal teams. Innovation: A passion for strategic thinking and ideation, with a strong business acumen and a keen interest in the latest digital trends. Global Perspective: Experience managing media strategies across multiple regions or global markets is preferred.
