Job Description: Position Overview: The Design Director – Urban Design will be leading the Urban Design Management Function, responsible for addressing the design aspects of urban development at all levels. This includes reviewing existing plans, analyzing urban design issues from city scale to lot scale, and making recommendations for change as necessary. The role involves working with engineering and planning staff on resolving design issues, providing advice on elements of urban design, and making presentations when required. What You'll Be Doing:

Develop and implement design strategies and processes to ensure successful completion of projects.
Lead and manage a team of design professionals to ensure successful completion of projects.
Oversee the design process from concept to completion.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
Ensure design standards are met and maintained.
Manage budgets and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Analyze and evaluate design trends and technologies to ensure projects are up to date.
Develop and implement design policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and mentorship to design team members.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional registration in engineering, architecture, or related field.
25+ years of experience in design management.
Proven track record of successful project delivery.
Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary diverse team.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engineering and design principles.
