Job Description: Technical Specialist - Airframe - 00122940 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE This role is responsible to the Design Team Leader, undertaking a Typhoon Design support/liaison role within the TSC at King Fahad Air Base (KFdAB), Taif, Saudi Arabia. The role requires the job holder to provide on-hand design support (structural repairs/design advice) to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) forward, depth, and SMU maintenance organization by responding to and approving Airframe Technical Queries and offering Design Authority advice to the RSAF utilizing the Team Centre Query resolution process. The job holder will carry out day-to-day liaison between the UK-based 'In Service Support Team (ISST), Typhoon Design Support Team, and the RSAF ensuring that service level agreements are met for Technical Queries and discrete tasking such as Logistic tasks and Repair instructions. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Answering queries on the Typhoon Airframe, within the scope of delegated authority using approved data or seeking design approval for query responses where required.
  2. Ensuring all queries, responses, and status prioritization are recorded on the Teamcenter system via the Technical Query Management Coordinators.
  3. Liaising with the query originator to fully understand the query and populate the Teamcenter system accordingly.
  4. Providing initial analysis of queries to determine and agree acceptance, prioritization, and best route to providing an answer, liaising with appropriate stakeholders including the RSAF, ISST, and various areas of the Typhoon Design Support Team Back Office.
  5. Assisting Maintenance and Line Technical Support staff in the resolution of on-aircraft problems.
  6. Interfacing with European Industry via the ISST and various areas of the Typhoon Design Support Team Back Office to obtain a response as appropriate.
  7. Interfacing with the Typhoon Design Support Team UK on all technical matters to prevent duplication and ensure a common approach to problems.
  8. Ensuring query responses have received all relevant validation signatures.
  9. Providing input to the status reporting process.
  10. Assisting in the analysis of Technical Specialist Reports and data provided by In-Service Data Management Team to identify trends in maintenance and operational problem areas on the Typhoon Airframe to identify where improvements can be made.
  11. Providing structured On-the-Job training for Saudi National Technical Specialist Staff, in the form of training, coaching, work experience, and mentoring as appropriate.
  12. Providing support to the RSAF in generating National Instructions from Industry provided approved data.
  13. Supporting the production of monthly reports and KPI claims.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Must be educated to Degree/HND level in a relevant engineering discipline or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
  2. Experience of aircraft structures gained in an aerospace design or design support related environment.
  3. Capable of holding a design engineering signature.
  4. Computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  5. Capable of working independently or as part of a team, under extreme pressure and to tight operational timescales.
  6. Understanding of Engineering, Design, Airworthiness, Safety, and Quality standards.
  7. Knowledge of export control requirements (ITAR/USEC).
  8. Extensive experience of the Typhoon platform.
  9. Experience in working with CATIA, EDSRS, and VisView with an understanding of Typhoon drawing layouts.
  10. An understanding of Structural Health Monitoring.
  11. Knowledge of PLM/Teamcentre.
  12. Demonstrable experience working in an aircraft design or maintenance environment.
  13. High level of composure and interpersonal skills to coordinate a large number of diverse and complex activities and the ability to communicate, influence, and support the decision-making process at all levels.
  14. Experience of multitasking to manage a wide range of activities at differing levels of maturity.
