2nd Line Systems Engineer – Midlands/Remote £28K - £32K per annum – Fully remote position with occasional travel to a site in the Midlands Investigo are delighted to be exclusively partnered with a leading IT Support Services organisation that are on the look-out for a new 2nd Line Systems Engineer due to business demand! Experience working within an MSP would be highly advantageous! Within the role, you will play a key part in providing support to external customers through designing, implementing & supporting bespoke and off-the-shelf tech solutions. Within the role you will gain great exposure of providing BAU and also project work – working closely with the end customer to provide an exceptional service. The role would ideally suit a proven 2nd Line / Systems/ Infrastructure Engineer that is looking for a new challenge in a predominantly remote working environment. The organisation is a truly friendly and fully remote geared business – they worked remotely before the pandemic and will continue to do so. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with Active Directory, Microsoft Cloud Services (Exchange Online, O365, Teams/SharePoint etc), VMware/Hyper-V to name a few – a great 2nd Line, infrastructure & systems all-rounder is required for this role! Key Skills of the role
- Previous experience with on-premise server virtualisation platform, such as VMWare, Hyper-V. Azure.
- Experience with managing cloud Microsoft services such as Entra, Exchange Online, Teams/SharePoint Admin, Enterprise Applications, Intune, etc
- Experience of using and managing on-premises Microsoft domain services, such as Active Directory and Group Policy
- Experience working with on-premises infrastructure, including traditional rack-mount servers. Plus experience working with remote management of systems.
- Previous experience providing 2nd Line support to users, working with the wider team where necessary.
- An understanding of multi-component solutions that may include server- and client-side upgrades, and consist of database, web, framework, service, desktop application and cloud platform elements with interdependencies that impact upgrades and updates.
- Familiar working with change management processes, submitting to CAB etc.
- Knowledge, understanding and/or a certification in ITIL would be highly desirable.
