Purpose Statement: Management & provision of technical direction to the planning and direct material purchasing group, ensuring that the detailed production plan is established to meet the MPS/net requirements/CBP. Planning and Sourcing Components, Packaging, Supplies & MRO in line with Company Objectives. Inventory management, cycle count, material controls. Managing financial budgets and setting aggressive department goals that support BSC’s current and future objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Management & provision of technical direction to the planning and direct sourcing group.
- Lead the supply chain, planning activities, material management initiatives in line with company objectives.
- Optimize the planning and procurement operating efficiencies through the use of system tools; rapid response, SAP, MRP, etc.
- Creation of build plans to fully meet customer requirements. Ensure plans are met in terms of linearity, mix and volume.
- Achieve the company’s targets in key service areas such as back orders, fill rates, distribution, inventory reduction, inventory turns, schedule adherence, cycle time reduction, cycle counting, etc.
- Diagnose service level failures and understand corrective actions being taken to prevent reoccurrence.
- Orchestrate the monthly SI&OP (sales, inventory and operations planning) process, prepare documentation and facilitate the associated meetings: marketing handshake, production handshake and plant presentation material development.
- Monitor supply chain performance (i.e. physical flow, allocation, master data, and intervene as required to ensure optimal performance).
- Manage financial budgets and set aggressive department goals that support BSC’s current and future objectives.
- Partner with other sister companies and all other BSIL functions to optimize department performance.
- Collaborate with global sourcing team and ensure optimized supply chain for Penang operations.
- Daily interaction with the production team to ensure company goals are meet.
- Candidate must process at least Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Production Operation Management or equivalent; MBA preferred but not required.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in manufacturing including 5 years in people manager role, medical industry product exposure will be added advantage.
- Strong computer knowledge with Microsoft Office Tools, Rapid Response (Inventory Optimization Tool) and SAP S4 Hanna (MRP & PPDS).
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including internal/external customer.
