Schneider Electric is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Manager-Compliance, to join our team in Bangalore, India. This position will be responsible for researching, interpreting, and communicating requirements for international markets for residential, commercial, utility scale photovoltaic (PV), Stand alone and Grid Tie inverters, Charge controllers, Lead acid and Li-ion batteries, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Panel boards, communication devices like Wi Fi and Blue tooth in addition to EMI/EMC requirements. Precise decision-making skill regarding compliance is the key for the function. Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with contacts within Schneider Electric, with regulatory bodies, utilities, and customers, to identify and obtain the regulatory requirements that residential, commercial, utility scale for the following products:
- Photovoltaic (PV) Stand alone and Grid inverters,
- Charge controllers,
- Lead acid and Li-ion batteries,
- Panel boards,
- Communication and monitoring gateway devices with Wi-Fi and Blue tooth features.
- Fair knowledge on the regulatory/standards requirements in the following fields:
- Product Safety
- Utility interconnection (grid code) requirements for NAM & EU markets
- Efficiency
- EMI/EMC requirements
- RF Requirements related to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.
- Environmental compliance like REACH, RoHS, etc.
- Communicate requirements to Product Management and Product Development teams, per standard requirements and by assisting with writing of detailed Functional Specifications relevant to our products and systems.
- Shall be able to independently perform the analysis and interpret the standard requirements to support design teams.
- Shall be independent and need to coordinate with various international certification agencies and external laboratories to get the necessary testing and certifications done in time.
- Feed questions from technical staff back to internal and external contacts to obtain answers and refine our understanding and interpretation of requirements.
- Monitor upcoming changes in requirements in key markets and analyze and communicate the changes and able to maintain a library of original source documents, translations, and briefs.
- Distributed generation systems and utility interconnection
- Utility standards and practices relating to interconnection of electrical sources - protection, behavior under fault conditions, power quality, communications, and control, etc.
- Professionals who are presently working on national and International standard committees are preferred.
- Experience working with regulations and product safety standards preferably like UL 1741, IEC 60328, IEC 62109-1/ IEC 62109-2, UL 1998, UL 50E, UL 414, UL 67, UL 1973, IEC 62619, IEC 63056, etc.
- Grid code standards like IEEE 1547, IEEE 1547.1, VDE 4105, BDEW, etc.
- The candidates must also have good knowledge in EMI/EMC standards both FCC-ISED and IEC/EN 61000 series of the standards applicable for various products for North America and EU markets.
- Excellent communication skill in English is absolutely essential for the job.
- Ability to source, translate, and analyze technical documents, identify relevant sections, and communicate requirements.
- Skills necessary for success are:
- Oral and written technical language skills.
- Good project planning abilities is essential
- Independently analysis of standard requirement with the design concepts
- a strong aptitude for understanding and communicating technical requirements.
- the ability to recognize and extract the relevant requirements from long complex documents.
- attention to detail and thoroughness; information management.
- Excellent communication skill in English
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree, preferably with a focus on power electronics and power systems.
- Experience with utility operations and practices.
- Sound knowledge about Product Safety and Grid Code compliance certifications for North America, Europe, Australia preferred.
- Experience of around 10-15 years.
