This role involves creating financial forecasting models, evaluating investment risks, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations to support the company's profitability and risk management. The individual is also responsible for maintaining accurate and timely updates to the company's financial management systems.Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Export and update customer and intercompany billing into invoicing and job register files, including cost validation for individual jobs.
- Integrate, verify, and post transaction entries in the Great Plains system (e.g., job costs, payment vouchers, petty cash, journals, and incoming ICB).
- Prepare monthly full sets of accounts for the assigned entities.
- Update balance sheet schedules after closing actual reports, verify account codes, and correct prior transaction errors.
- Export detailed profit and loss accounts for budget preparation after monthly account closures.
- Monitor cash flow positions weekly.
- Assist the Head of Finance with accounting issues as needed.
- Analyze business unit performance and prepare budgets.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting certifications such as ACCA, MIA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software, Excel, and other relevant computer tools.
- At least 3 years of experience in an accounting role with a track record of success.
- Strong decision-making skills grounded in accurate and timely analysis.
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
- Excellent time management, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to information gathering.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, capable of managing and engaging with staff at all levels.
- Demonstrates integrity, ethics, and dependability while leading by example.
- Proficient in strategic thinking, planning, and creative problem-solving.
- Resilient under pressure with a high degree of adaptability.
