Job Title: IT Manager (Contract) Location: West Midlands, Stafford - Hybrid (1/2 days on-site) Contract Duration: 6 - 12 months Start Date: Immediately Rate: £250-300 per day Inside IR35 Role Overview My client is seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Manager to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be working remotely with a team of 8 Infrastructure Engineers to make sure there are no gaps in work, there is continuous improvement and managing problems. You will be doing this alongside other IT Managers working technically on Infrastructure Networks, Service Desk, a Cloud shift and to train up individuals. Key Responsibilities: Issue Diagnosis & Problem Resolution:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve common technical issues related to operating systems, network connectivity, and application software. Escalate complex issues to the appropriate 2nd or 3rd line teams, ensuring resolutions are documented and follow the established escalation protocols.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure team to monitor and maintain computer systems, networks, and cloud environments. Participate in cloud network shifts, ensuring optimal performance and security standards are met.
- Identify and manage gaps in support and service delivery, taking proactive steps to pick up any slack. Support quality assurance efforts and lead initiatives to improve service levels and operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance on IT security requirements, ensuring they are implemented across all sites. Lead efforts to maintain high security standards and compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of training plans for lower-level managers and technical staff. Mentor and guide staff on best practices and new technologies, ensuring skill development across the team.
- Work closely with Infrastructure Networks, Architecture, and Cloud teams to ensure seamless integration of IT systems. Collaborate with Skills Analysts to identify gaps in knowledge and support the development of training and improvement plans.
- Regularly monitor systems and networks, conducting checks to ensure performance, security, and system reliability. Provide reports on system performance and issues, working with senior management to address ongoing concerns.
- Technical Support: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT management role, preferably have experience managing individuals and having the ability to manage work improvement within the company.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in supporting Office 365 and GCP
- Networking: Basic understanding
- Software: Experience working with individuals in an IT management role and be confident with common office software (Microsoft Office,) and specialized applications.
