PHP Developer

Chromebrains is searching for an organized, focused, and highly skilled Lead PHP Developer who will leverage his development background and passion for new technology to make a significant impact in the context of a small, highly effective, and agile engineering team. Come use your elite skills to help us build end-to-end web services for these major brands to enable these platforms. You will work in small project teams where you will be treated like an adult and expected to deliver what you commit to. The position will require a strong background in object-oriented PHP, software engineering, design patterns, and agile methodology. The applicant should demonstrate a track record of innovative problem solving and possess superior written and oral communication skills, along with knowledge of shopping cart design and implementation. The applicant should have leadership ability and past experience leading a team of developers on large-scale projects.

Job Specification

1. Coordinate a team of developers to work together on a large-scale project in the same environment.
2. Gather project requirements to create a planned and engineered approach to tackle the project.
3. Write highly optimized and engineered PHP code.
4. Review code written by the team of developers.
5. Debug and optimize pre-existing code.
6. Utilize test-driven development practices to ensure unit tests exist for all lines of code.
7. Utilize best practices with technologies to ensure fast processing in high-load situations.

1. Self-motivated, team-oriented, responsible, and reliable with a positive attitude.
2. Candidate must have the ability to work in a structured, yet variable environment.
3. BA or BS degree preferred.
4. Minimum of 5+ years of Object-Oriented PHP coding experience in the workplace.
5. Minimum of 2+ years of leadership in a development environment.
6. Must have knowledge of code repository software Git and Subversion.
7. Must have an understanding of system engineering and object-oriented design patterns.
8. Must have expertise with the Model-View-Controller paradigm.
9. Must have a strong understanding of optimized MySQL queries.
10. Must have strong analytical skills.
11. Ability to resolve complex problems.
12. Experience with WordPress, Joomla, & Drupal.
13. High-level understanding of CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery a plus.
