College co-ops will be assigned to work on one of the following Software Engineering Portfolio teams based on the availability of opportunities and the matching of skills and career interests:- Software Performance & Reliability Engineering
- Channels/Servicing/Enterprise Payments/Customer Comm AI/Automation & Omni Channel Technology
- Flight Ops / Crew Onboard Services / TPF Ops Apps
- TechOps, DMS & DFP
- Corporate Technology
- Global Sales, DLV & Engineering Services
- PAX Movement / Cargo / Airport Ops / Bag Management
About you
Minimum qualification:
- Must be able to commit to working full-time, 40 hours per week, for a total of 2 rotational semesters (work at Delta during the Spring 2025 semester starting January 13 - May 1, 2025, go to school during the summer 2025 semester, then return to Delta to work Fall 2025 semester, August 18 – December 19, 2025).
- Be willing to work onsite in the Atlanta, GA, or Minneapolis St. Paul, MN headquarters office (as agreed upon during the interview). With management approval, most teams work a partially onsite / partially remote (hybrid) work schedule.
- Be an undergrad college student with a 2.5 GPA or higher and have completed at least 2 years in a college program. Degree emphasis should be in Computer Science, Software Development, Systems/Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics/Operations Research, Cyber Security, Business Management, or a related field.
- Ideal candidates have strong analytical, leadership, written and verbal communication skills, and a good work ethic.
- Be able to work well with a diverse group of people and consistently make the safety and security of self and others a priority.
- Interest in solving complex problems and willing to invest time and energy to overcome roadblocks.
- Possess an awareness of cloud technology, Agile methodologies, Software Dev Lifecycles, and/or PC hardware components and maintenance.
- Be able to conduct yourself maturely and be comfortable working in a business casual work attire environment.
- Be interested in working for Delta Air Lines after graduation if presented with an opportunity and a full-time job offer.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to digest large amounts of data and information and briefly explain what can be learned from the data and how it can support decision-making.
- Desire to learn leadership techniques and best practices in problem-solving and conflict resolution to enable innovation and progress on difficult-to-solve challenges faced by their customers.
- Have a passion for working on technologies such as Mobile apps, Enterprise Web apps, APIs, Messaging, Databases, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence.

Training, development & rotation
The Technology and Business Strategy department enhances the Flight Operations Division by advancing technology applications, optimizing work processes, and aligning with leadership strategies. Through the Project Development Office, the department connects stakeholders, IT teams, and product owners to ensure transparency and continuous improvement in project management, particularly as Delta transitions to an Agile environment.
