Chief Economist

The Chief Economist will report to the AMRO Director and perform the following functions: To lead and supervise the planning and implementation of AMRO's country and regional surveillance and related research activities, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of assignments, developing frontier insights, and providing forward-looking analysis and policy recommendations on economic and financial stability issues in the region. To lead and supervise the planning, development, and implementation of analytical frameworks and toolkits for country and regional surveillance and related research. To lead the planning, implementation, and supervision of frameworks and processes that ensure rigor, soundness, and consistency in the assessment and policy recommendations of AMRO's products, in coordination with the Deputy Director 3. To build and strengthen relationships with strategic partners (IFIs and other IOs), manage AMRO's participation in seminars, conferences, and events relevant to AMRO’s activities, and oversee the quality and content of presentation materials. To lead and manage consultation meetings with the Advisory Panel. To lead and manage AMRO's support function for the effective implementation of the CMIM, particularly the production of AMRO's Reports, including policy recommendations, in coordination with the Deputy Director 2. To perform other functions as may be determined by the Director in accordance with the AMRO Agreement. The term of the Chief Economist shall be for three years, with an option for a one-time extension for up to three years. The AMRO Director, based on his/her assessment of the performance of the Chief Economist, shall decide on the extension, which shall be submitted for EC’s endorsement. #J-18808-Ljbffr
