Overview of the role As reach52 continues to expand its business streams, including a strategic entry into new business lines, reach52 is seeking an experienced and dedicated Associate Director, Group Finance. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this position will spearhead financial modelling, forecasting, cash flow management, business development pricing, budget signoffs, and collaborate closely with management for financial reporting and assessments. The role involves managing audits, supporting, and overseeing procurement, country-level budgeting, and fostering the growth of reach52’s different business lines. - Expand and oversee the reach52 finance function, both at HQ and within in-country teams, notably India.
- Develop robust financial forecasts, plans, and growth models aligned with the business strategy and adjust accordingly across the fiscal year.
- Monitor and manage country budgets while maintaining a start-up mentality of being collaborative, entrepreneurial, and proactive to reach52’s different business lines.
- Conduct variance analysis and create reports to communicate key findings and actionable recommendations.
- Manage accounts receivables and payables.
- Actively support with strategic and ad-hoc investor activities.
- Continuously study and implement industry best practices and streamline workflows to improve overall financial operations.
- Work closely with different countries and functions leads to optimise resource allocation and improve cost-efficiency.
- Contribute to the creation of accurate financial models where needed (e.g. new business lines, BD, and investor opportunities, etc.).
- Prepare comprehensive meeting materials and presentations for partners, such as investors and clients.
- Review monthly financial reporting across our operational countries, collaborating with in-country reach52 teams.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and successfully lead, then conclude audits (e.g. annual audits, DD audits for investors, etc.).
- Conduct periodic quality checks to ensure adherence to processes and contribute to enhancing financial procedures.
- Maximise the usage of technology in day-to-day operations, such as the Office 365 suite and accounting software, to ensure proper documentation and efficiency.
- Liaison with different entities (e.g. banks) to ensure both payments (e.g. to suppliers) and receivables (e.g. from campaign clients) are processed cost-effectively, accurately, and on-time with documentation.
- Own and deliver Finance Objectives and Key Results (‘OKRs’).
- A Certified Public Accountant certification, with a degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, coupled with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience and in-depth knowledge of financial operations.
- Highly valued experience in startups and the following industries (or similar):
- Pharmaceuticals
- Consumer Health/FMCG
- Healthcare/Digital Health
- A track record of working with raising commercial capital is a huge plus.
- A modern finance mindset, emphasising transparency, accountability, and a culture of growth and empowerment, with evidence in implementing modern Finance solutions and programs.
- Detailed and updated knowledge of taxation, legal and bank related matters.
- Experience in working with multiple markets/functions and operating in a regional Finance capacity, particularly within companies operating in Singapore, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Kenya and/or South Africa.
- A strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, sound business acumen, and strong analytical skills to process complex information and define clear strategic directions.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English or the applicable local language.
- Strong project management skills, process improvement capabilities, and leadership of cross-country teams to deliver impactful results within deadlines.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities for long-term positive outcomes.
- Passion for continuous learning, development, and empowering others.
- Strong mastery of the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Experience in fully utilizing accounting software, such as Xero.
- Access to reliable personal devices and internet suitable for professional work.
- Experience managing challenges of remote working and a proven track record in driving team outcomes, fostering a positive work culture, and making a significant impact across the Finance spectrum.
