Regional Legal Counsel About the Client : A company within the Financial Technology Industry. Key Responsibilities Legal Advisory: Identify legal and regulatory issues affecting business units or activities. Provide practical, commercial solutions to mitigate risks and enable informed decision-making within acceptable risk levels. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including subscription agreements, NDAs, data processing agreements, payment and financing documents, and security or transaction-related contracts. Ensure all contracts and documents executed by authorized signatories comply with company policies and processes. Corporate Governance and Compliance: Enhance corporate governance by revising guidelines and authority matrices to align with headquarters’ standards. Establish and maintain the company’s compliance framework, including drafting relevant policies. Dispute Resolution and Coordination: Provide legal support during disputes, potential conflicts, or litigation matters. Coordinate with company secretaries, external legal advisors, and third-party consultants on various legal and corporate matters. Cross-Regional Collaboration: Actively participate in cross-regional team projects to ensure consistency and alignment across operations. Key Requirements Educational Background: LL.B. or J.D. degree from a reputable university in Singapore, the UK, or another common law jurisdiction. Admission to the bar in a common law jurisdiction, with preference for Singapore. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in-house or in banking, with exposure to international trade as a must. Skills and Attributes: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving industry. Service-oriented and highly responsive, with the ability to handle pressure while providing thoughtful and practical recommendations.
