Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • 7 years of experience in the same field and 3 years’ experience in the same position as Head Nurse Mental Health.
  • Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Dataflow is a must.
  • Saudi license holder is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
Job description and responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the nursing team, providing direction and support to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and assignments to meet patient needs effectively.
  • Monitor patient assessments, care plans, and treatment interventions to ensure they align with best practices in mental health care.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient conditions and the effectiveness of care strategies.
  • Facilitate training and orientation for new nursing staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Identify ongoing education opportunities for team members to enhance clinical competencies.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing protocols and standards to improve patient outcomes and safety.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead crisis intervention efforts, ensuring staff are trained in de-escalation techniques and emergency response.
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise within the unit.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, progress, and resources.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities, assessments, and interventions.
  • Prepare reports on unit performance, patient outcomes, and incidents for management review.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of patients within the mental health system.
  • Promote mental health awareness and access to services within the community.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures that align with organizational goals.
  • Stay informed about changes in mental health regulations and best practices.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
  • Assist in managing the nursing budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
  • Seek cost-effective solutions to enhance service delivery without compromising care quality.
