Junior Electrical Engineer (Cork)

Within our Power Generation & Utilities business, we deliver large-scale critical infrastructure projects that transform the reliability, availability, and efficiency of the energy network, moving it towards a greener, more sustainable future. Projects include:

1. High-Efficiency centralised power plants in hyperscale data centres
2. Large-scale flexible peaking plants providing grid support when renewables are not available
3. Embedded renewables
4. National Utility projects to meet ambitious sustainability targets

We are currently seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer (3+ years) to join our expanding teams across Ireland & the UK. Experience with Peaking, CCGT, CHP Plants or Embedded Renewables would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training. Responsibilities

1. Designing electrical control systems and instrumentation for power generation and energy systems.
2. Developing detailed schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
3. Producing drawings, wiring schematics, lists and data sheets using AutoCAD and EPLAN.
4. Developing PLC and SCADA software for control and monitoring systems.
5. Overseeing the installation of control systems and instrumentation equipment.
6. Collaborating with technicians and contractors to ensure proper implementation.
7. Undertaking Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
8. Commissioning of control systems in the field.
9. Mentoring of Graduate & Junior Engineers.

Qualifications

1. Level 8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
2. 3+ years' experience in electrical or automation engineering.
3. PLC Programming Experience in one or more of the following: Siemens/ Allen-Bradley/ Schneider.
4. HMI / SCADA Experience in one or more of the following: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / Schneider.
5. Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.
6. Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus or DeviceNet).
7. Knowledge and experience in the Energy sector would be advantageous but not essential.
