The British School of Bahrain (BSB) is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of KS2 (Junior School) to start in August 2025. The candidate must be a team player and must have a passion for achieving the highest levels of learning and a culture of excellence for themselves and their students. The British School of Bahrain is committed to providing a high-quality, international education for students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are a selective, coeducational, independent Nursery-through-Year 13 school. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with some adaptations to the local context and offers IGCSE and A-Level/BTEC examinations. While the language of academic instruction is English, we are a truly international school, and our pupils and staff come from over 82 different nationalities. JOB PROFILE The candidate will be experienced in delivering the UK Key Stage 2 curriculum; and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet the varying learning and social needs of the children in accordance with the school requirements; and ensure that all subjects to be taught provide coverage, progression and continuity. Applicants will be academically able, with a degree in the subject, and they will also be enthusiastic and collegiate teachers. Involvement in the wider life of this outstandingly successful British School is expected. All teachers are expected to facilitate and maximise the academic progress and pastoral welfare of each assigned student. All teachers have clear teaching, pastoral, and administrative roles as well as an expectation for the commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• Place the individual child at the centre of everything that they do. • A passion for achieving high levels of learning and a team player. • Prioritise happiness, enjoyment and a sense of fun in their work and lessons. • A relevant degree, PGCE or BEd or the equivalent. • A passion for their subject and pedagogical development. • Confidence in the use of ICT in teaching. • High expectations and aspirations for all students. • A demonstrable commitment to the overall development of young people. • An Enhanced Disclosure/DBS/ACRO Police Check or equivalent, and who is committed to the welfare of all children.
