Job Description

  • Troubleshoot systems and networks to determine where the issue is and make changes and monitor.
  • Train new technicians and contractors to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction. Implement new procedures and documents to ensure that the technician is fully trained and equipped with the necessary information to complete any installation. 
  • Install CPE devices and train the technicians on how to install them and on how to perform the necessary tests.
  • Assist technicians with remote support at clients and high sites, scan and connects as well as fault finding. 
  • Setup of VOIP systems on Porta and the configuration thereof. Assist technicians remotely to setup and or do fault finding.
  • Assist the Projects Team with site meetings as well as callouts in emergencies through First Line Support.  
  • Assist Core Engineers with the update of IPV4 networks on ISP framework and towers.
  • Do the initial setup of the radios and create/supply IP addresses. Give information through to Core network administrators for the Vlan Setup.
  • ISP Framework Update - Add/ Edit clients on the system.
  • PRTG Update - Add/Edit clients on the network for monitoring.
Inherent Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • ESSENTIAL:  knowledge of Mikrotik CCNA 
  • 1 – 2 years’ work experience on First Line Support.
  • Networking, routing knowledge
  • Good technical skills in terms of network setup and maintenance.
  • Good communication Skills: Written & Verbal
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle a highly pressurized environment, resilient
  • Ability to work in a open-plan office environment
  • Team Player
Willing and able to be on standby after hours and weekends, once or twice per month (rotated amongst team) - overtime paid and employee is provided with a standby phone, laptop and home connectivity.
