Technical Engineer Key Responsibilities 1. System Design and Development · Design and implement solutions involving barcode scanners, RFID readers, and card-based access control systems. · Develop integration plans for speedgates with these technologies to ensure seamless functionality. · Evaluate and recommend appropriate hardware and software solutions to meet project requirements. · Create technical documentation, including schematics, workflows, and system architecture. 2. Installation and Configuration · Configure and install barcode scanners, RFID readers, and access control card systems. · Oversee the physical installation of speedgates and their associated components. · Calibrate devices for optimal performance and accuracy. · Ensure compliance with safety and security standards during installation. 3. Integration · Integrate barcode, RFID, and card systems with speedgates and other access control systems. · Implement software and firmware updates for all components. · Develop APIs or use existing interfaces to connect devices with management software or enterprise systems. 4. Troubleshooting and Maintenance · Perform diagnostics on malfunctioning devices or systems to identify and resolve issues. · Conduct regular maintenance on barcode scanners, RFID readers, card systems, and speedgates. · Monitor system performance and propose upgrades or replacements when needed. · Respond to technical support queries and provide on-site or remote assistance. 5. Testing and Quality Assurance · Conduct tests to validate the accuracy and reliability of barcode and RFID readings. · Ensure the synchronization of all integrated systems, including speedgates. · Perform stress testing to confirm the system's ability to handle high traffic and loads. 6. Project Management and Collaboration · Collaborate with architects, developers, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions. · Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for related projects. · Train end-users and provide documentation for system operation and troubleshooting. 7. Innovation and Research · Stay updated on emerging technologies in barcodes, RFID, and access control systems. · Explore opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements using these technologies. · Recommend innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience. --- Required Skills · Strong understanding of barcode technologies (e.g., QR codes, linear codes) and RFID systems (active, passive tags). · Proficiency in card system technologies, such as smart cards and magnetic stripe cards. · Knowledge of speedgate mechanics and automation. · Programming skills for system integration (e.g., Python, C++, Java, or relevant API languages). · Familiarity with networking and data communication protocols (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, NFC, etc.). · Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting.
