Job Description - Senior Manager, Development - Asia Pacific (5 months' contract) (APA014K5) Job Number: APA014K5 Work Locations Hilton - Area Office - Singapore 3 Temasek Avenue #14-01/05 Centennial Tower Singapore 39190 The Senior Manager, Development - Asia Pacific (APAC, excluding Greater China & Mongolia) will work with the Vice President, Development - South East Asia (SEA) to execute SEA growth strategy, including but not limited to originating leads for new hotel projects and negotiating and contracting projects in line with the enterprise's objectives. The main focus of this role will primarily be in support of growing Hilton’s hotel portfolio. Objectives of the role Support leads and pitch for new hotel projects Evaluate opportunities for “fit” with the strategy and objectives of the enterprise See the trading estate grow with the opening of contracted hotels and thus deliver on the strategic objective of “expanding the global footprint” of our enterprise This is a maternity leave cover. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique. Support Lead: Work effectively with colleagues, industry contacts, investment parties, consultants, lawyers, financiers, etc. Support generated leads that conform to agreed strategies and standards to identify development opportunities for growth at the local and group level. Be a “self-starter” moving to act in this regard without constantly needing review, follow-up, and direction. Interpersonal Skills: Be a strong communicator (across all mediums) and interact effectively with a highly diverse group of stakeholders (outside and inside the enterprise) to sell ideas and galvanize support. Development Strategy & Reporting: Work effectively with team members, industry contacts, and competitors to assist the Development team in supporting (and then appropriately refining/adapting) the development strategy for SEA. Aim to ensure our strategy remains fresh, powerful, and agile. Map the progress made in pursuit of the strategy. Market Intelligence: Formulate and deploy a diverse network of contacts or receiving support from industry consultants, build our capability to assemble and evaluate quality market intelligence in all its forms to identify opportunities. For example, this may entail reviewing markets to identify previously unknown opportunities, researching the activity of real estate developers with whom we currently have no point of relationship, or researching the activity of our competitors (while adhering to corporate policy) to identify future opportunities that we may legitimately pursue. Opportunity Evaluation & Coordination: Draw upon market intelligence and existing commercial skills (including corporate finance analysis), support a robust perspective on the relative merits of hotel opportunities to aid decision-making on whether we should pursue the opportunity. Help coordinate the prioritization of competing (or potentially conflicting) opportunities within a market and thus so help direct activity within the Development team. Deal Support: Support the Director in working effectively with owners, internal and external advisors (particularly legal advisors), and colleagues to execute deals aligned with agreed priorities, Hilton standards, and conformity with corporate approvals. Negotiations should be conducted to secure integrative gains rather than distributive (zero-sum) outcomes. Look beyond the signing of deals to recognize the real finishing line of any project is to see the hotel successfully open and trading. Development Administration: Be adept and efficient at the following: (i) management and retention of project documentation and (ii) coordinating effectively with the Feasibility & Investment Analysis team. Enterprise & Brand Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Hilton's brand portfolio, the attributes and strengths of our commercial engines, and the advantage in our Operations and Performance Management platforms. Knowledge and understanding of our contract documentation are essential. Marketing & Event Management: Assist in the formulation, project management, and execution of a wide variety of marketing initiatives, including conferences, road shows, and developing marketing collateral/programs.
