YOUR ROLE Join our innovative and rapidly growing CleanTech start-up as a Process Automation Engineer and play a vital role in addressing one of humanity's most pressing challenges: paving the way for a carbon-negative future. To continue our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Process Automation Engineer who is well-versed in process industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding full project life cycles including design, programming and commissioning of systems. As part of our Product team, you will be responsible for implementing and launching new pilot plants and developing small-scale automation rigs for our laboratory research division. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Collaborate with engineers, external contractors and project managers to design efficient, safe, and reliable control systems for our current and upcoming carbon capture systems.
- Conduct system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance, including at customer sites.
- Understand and analyze process data to optimize setpoints.
- Develop small-scale automation programs for our chemical laboratory and workshop, facilitating experiments for the research team.
- Participate in HAZOPs and initial design reviews to share your process knowledge with the team.
- 5+ years in Automation Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with process industry norms, standards, and protocols.
- Familiarity with instrumentation selection, installation and calibration
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to think critically and apply creativity to application development.
- Experience in programming Siemens PLC & HMI systems as well basic networking and communication protocols is an advantage
- Has a broad knowledge of fluid handling, steam and vacuum systems and an intuitive understanding of process problems
- Interdisciplinary value-driven individual with good organization and communication skills, along with a passion for innovation, startups and climate
