System Engineer (Linux) - IC

Job Description

1. Provide hands-on UNIX/Linux system administration.
2. Install, configure and maintain security tools such as firewall, VPN gateway and sandboxing.
3. Monitor and manage system resources, system logs, security patching and backup/recovery.
4. Monitor system performance and ensure high level of performance and availability.
5. Analyze and resolve problems associated with the hardware and software.
6. Ability to utilize analysis tools to resolve complex system performance problems.
7. Perform IT security review to ensure compliance with security standards.
8. Review, recommend and develop procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
9. Plan and implement IT projects related to IT infrastructure and security.
10. Provide 7x24 standby technical support.

Job Requirements

1. Degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
3. Must have hands-on experience in UNIX and Linux system administration.
4. Good knowledge of firewall and security products.
5. Good knowledge of shell scripting.
6. Experience in cybersecurity hardening practices for major operating system platforms.
7. Experience in Oracle databases and SAN storages is a plus.
8. Solid experience in IT projects and daily IT operation support.
9. Self-initiative, independent with good interpersonal and communication skills.
10. Strong analytical, troubleshooting skills and critical thinking capabilities.
11. Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
12. Able to work independently and under pressure, and willing to work during non-office hours when required.
