ABOUT THE ROLE
The passive fire industry is growing at an exponential rate, requiring much consulting expertise. Plus Systems is seeking an experienced building regulations consultant to join our growing team. The role will suit a building certifier looking for growth and variety whilst specialising in a niche area, with a consulting firm looking to develop into new markets and provide services and advice with a difference.
Key tasks will include providing advice to other professionals, trades or fire practitioners around passive fire specifically, documenting interpretation on Australian Standards, BCA, and other industry statements in order to provide advice, technical papers, and clarity to clients, and leading in expertise and collaboration for all parties in construction. It may also include inspections, reports, and advice in relation to fire rated walls, penetration seals, and fire rated door sets, and researching to find solutions to client out of the box passive fire issues.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the ability to focus on finding the best possible solution which may sometimes require providing evidence for other building certifiers or fire engineers, and also an ability to research, define issues, and provide advice to many parties. You will need to be client-focused both internally and externally, with a code consulting background and have experience with the following:
Ability to think outside the box and research to develop solutions and commercial or cost effective outcomes for clients
Being a part of planned innovation in new knowledge for the organisation
Research for the team and review of research completed by other team members to create new consulting products
Preparation of topical blogs and technical papers for circulation
Desire to learn and develop your career
High computer and software literacy
IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS
Building certifier with 10 + years’ experience in the construction industry
Knowledge of Australian Standards and BCA particularly those surrounding passive fire
Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
Ability to follow process but be able to think outside the box when needed
QBCC Licence or the ability to obtain
No formal passive fire qualifications are necessary but will be an advantage
Eligible to work permanently in Australia
