The Opportunity: Do you love working outdoors? We are seeking an
enthusiastic and motivated forestry worker to join our Sealed Roads
team in Eden.
About the role: As a key member of Forestry Corporation’s Sealed
Roads Team based in Eden, you will contribute to delivering a diverse
range of projects. In addition to general forestry work, in this role
you will undertake a range of road maintenance tasks, including
pothole repairs, truck driving, asphalt works, vegetation management,
sign replacement, & incident response.
Although this role predominantly focuses on sealed road requirements,
day-to-day activity will vary depending on bushfire conditions. You
will be part of the organisation's fire readiness strategy and will be
on our fire roster. As a contributor to Forestry Corporation’s fire
response, you will be required to undertake rostered extended shifts
in the workplace (i.e. “Fire Standby” at a work depot or forest
location as needed) or at times you will be required to be on-call at
home. You may work extended hours, shifts, or days under physically
testing conditions and may also be asked to travel to other regions
for periodic firefighting deployment.
This role will also see you undertake a variety of activities, such
as: Repairs to sealed pavement. General road maintenance. Hazard
reduction burning and bushfire fighting. Pest and Weed control. Road
and fire trail maintenance. Building and facilities (including
recreation sites) maintenance. Vehicle and equipment maintenance.
What we can offer you is: Full-time, two-year contract based in the
beautiful coastal town of Eden. Competitive remuneration with a base

We would love you to have: Experience working in the Forestry, Roading
or Construction industries. Ability to work effectively as part of a
team to meet work standards and deadlines. Good verbal communication
skills. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new
technologies. Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s licence (heavy
vehicle license preferred). Experience or accreditation in Traffic
Control is not necessary but would be an advantage.
