About the role We are currently lookingfor an experienced and passionate farm manager to join one of our world class breeder farms in Christchurch. You will be accountable and responsible for managing and maintaining the breeder flocks, ensuring each flock receives optimum living conditions and uphold the welfare standards. Reporting to the Regional Breeder Manager, you will play a pivotal role in planning, monitoring and reporting on the farms production to ensure maximum productivity is achieved on a regular basis. The role ischallenging and hands-on, so it requires a person who is meticulous, thorough, and self-motivated. Our ideal candidate would possess the following attributes:
- Experience with livestock including a genuine concern for animal welfare.
- Experience with modern poultry farm equipment and control systems.
- Be committed to quality and budget management.
- Experience liaising with service providers.
- Focused on health and safety.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and farm alarm monitoring.
- Physically capable of performing a hands-on livestock role.
- Be mechanically minded and understand equipment and machinery maintenance.
