The Role Block's International Accounting Team is looking for a Senior Accountant to assist with the Clearpay business unit. This individual contributor role will drive accounting and financial statement preparation to ensure our financial records are complete and accurate. You will run month-end close processes, prepare and present monthly/annual management reports, support statutory and compliance audits, analyze financial data, support operational processes and various business initiatives, and work on other ad hoc projects. You will partner with teams both within the UK and around our global offices to ensure financial close and reporting processes are consistent with corporate requirements. This position can sit in our Australian Melbourne or Sydney office or be full-time remote from any part of Australia. You Will As part of the International accounting team, to ensure compliance with local reporting requirements, you will be responsible for: Accounting
- Maintaining Clearpay's secondary IFRS ledgers
- Working with Corporate and revenue accounting to maintain Clearpay adjustments to local materiality levels
- Maintaining and providing oversight of trial balances at an entity level
- Quarterly preparation and presentation of primary statements and other accounting material as required for local board reporting
- Preparation of movement analysis for both balance sheet and profit and loss.
- Review externally prepared SPV entity accounts
- Prepare reporting for local regulatory bodies
- Prepare audited & unaudited financials statements for Clearpay entities
- Support Afterpay consolidated financial statement preparation and audits
- Assist on ad hoc projects
- Understanding of new Clearpay initiatives and business activities
- Supporting the Clearpay business with accounting information as requested, including Tax, F&S, Treasury, Corporate Governance and Technical Accounting
- Support the completion of end-to-end statutory audits for Clearpay entities, ensuring on time delivery and compliance with statutory reporting requirements
- Supporting internal audit and ensuring compliance with internal audit with local and afterpay audits
- 4+ years experience working in multinational, fast paced and energetic environments
- Exceptionally strong financial reporting and analytical skills
- Expertise in IFRS accounting standards; familiarity with US GAAP and statutory reporting
- Bachelor's degree
- CA or CPA qualified
- Strong communicator and an ability to communicate across all levels of the business, and remote international teams.
- Strive to continually improve, including making changes to internal accounting processes and controls.
- Ability to time manage and problem solve effectively in a high-pressure environment, consistently meeting tight deadlines.
