About the Role:
Silvester Clark is seeking a Site-Based Structural Engineer for a high-impact project in the Waikato. This role requires hands-on involvement in overseeing construction progress, on-site structural assessments, and regular communication with contractors. The initial project duration is 14-18 months, with relocation to the Palmerston North office upon completion. This role offers an exciting mix of on-site challenges, interaction with major contractors, and the opportunity to make real-time engineering decisions. This role will be heavily based at a client's site in Tokoroa, with occasional travel to other client sites across the region. You could be based out of Tauranga or elsewhere in the Waikato and travel to the site.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site observation, assessment, and reporting throughout the construction process.
- Monitor construction phases, ensuring that work aligns with design specifications and New Zealand structural codes.
- Communicate regularly with contractors, making adjustments as needed for project quality and safety.
- Serve as the on-site representative for Silvester Clark, handling project challenges pragmatically and effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering or a related field.
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering ; experience in contracting or site management is highly beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work diplomatically with diverse teams on-site.
- A pragmatic mindset, capable of making informed decisions with minimal oversight.
