Maintenance Engineer

THE ROLE: As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our Palmerston North factory. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of Maintenance Engineers and Electricians, rich in knowledge and experience, ensuring plant and equipment reliability while resolving breakdowns efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities include:

1. Technical Support: Maintain and ensure the availability of plant equipment and tooling. Support contractors and carry out scheduled and project work within set timeframes and budgets.
2. Manufacturing Excellence: Enhance machine reliability and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
3. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency.
4. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align projects with company goals.
5. Safety: Demonstrate commitment to safety by adhering to policies, reporting incidents, and fostering a safety-first culture.

ABOUT YOU: As well as a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and be part of a bigger team, you will have:

1. Trade qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
2. Manufacturing experience, with exposure to principles like 5S or similar preferred.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
4. Pragmatic, innovative, and adaptable mindset.
5. Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
6. Demonstrated resilience, reliability, and organisational ability.
7. Able to work on-call once every 5 weeks on roster. Usual hours are Monday to Friday with flexibility around start time, and on the 5th week, you will work Monday to Monday, with additional on-call pay allowances (and an extra 2 days off during that following week).
