  • Provide General Ledger transaction processing support and ensuring delivery quality in terms of accuracy, completeness and timeliness on a daily basis.
  • Perform Balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Ensure that closing timelines meet the Group Corporate requirements.
  • Execute month end close steps, quarter & year end close activities in accordance with work instructions and month end closing checklist.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with Local Services and other Financial Services functional teams to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts for Evonik companies across Asia Pacific and EMEA region in accordance with work instructions and SmartClose checklist.
  • Perform troubleshooting of issues and challenges related to General Ledger processes.
  • Execute Internal Control System according to the guideline and ensure the Internal Control System documentation is in place.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship as well as liaise with Local Services, other teams within the SSC and Center of Excellence.
  • Ensure all work instructions, standard operating procedures and local specific variances are updated and reviewed.
  • Supporting Local Services in terms of internal and external audit.
  • Ensure queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner.
  • Support in the implementation of project initiatives rollout by Global team.
  • Continuously explore alternatives in driving process improvement and harmonization in areas of operation.
  • Support standardization across regions and globally by focusing on alignment of end to end business process areas, system and tools.
  • Undertake in any ad hoc assignment, projects and migrations that may be assigned from time to time.
TEAM AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
  • Able to provide guidance with support from Country Finance Supervisor, Key Accountant and Senior Analyst if there are issues faced by the junior analyst on work related matters.
  • Perform back up duty as and when required.
  • Support in knowledge transfer activities for the team.
DECISION MAKING
  • The Analyst will be responsible for daily/monthly KPIs for the assigned tasks and to ensure all deadlines are adhered to.
PROBLEM SOLVING AND INNOVATIVE THINKING
  • Resolve accounting issues in consultation with the Key Accountant/Country Finance Supervisor/Team Lead/Functional Manager.
REQUIREMENT
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and written in English.
  • A team player, meticulous, able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in languages would be an added advantage depending on the individual assignment, different language skills will be required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IFRS, General Ledger process and other accounting functions.
  • Experience working in SAP or other major ERP system's work environment would be an added advantage.
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft office, preferably have experience in SAP system.
  • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, ability to meet deadlines and execute on commitments.
  • Candidates assigned to manage the EMEA markets portfolio would be required to work according to the relevant shift hours.
  • Exposure to shared services environment would be advantageous.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Holds a Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
