POSITION SUMMARY: The Industrial Engineer analyzes current processes and procedures, implementing improvements that maximize productivity, reduce wastefulness, and ensure high-quality results. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Industrial Technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize performance and achieve organizational goals.
- Layout Optimization: Analyze and propose production layout strategies that optimize resource utilization, minimize waste, and ensure efficient workflow.
- Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and analysis to determine the ideal resource allocation, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining optimal efficiency levels.
- Process Improvement: Perform time-study analysis to identify bottlenecks and develop strategies for process improvement and production optimization.
- Project Management: Support Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects, including budgeting, planning, and implementation, to enhance manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Performance Evaluation: Develop and maintain OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) calculations and analysis to evaluate and improve equipment performance, availability, and quality levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate and may lead initiatives for productivity improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing appropriate strategies and processes.
- Workstation Optimization: Conduct man-machine calculations and analysis to optimize workstations, labor allocation, and production processes.
- 5S Implementation: Apply 5S principles to create an organized and efficient work environment.
- Takt Time Analysis: Conduct takt time analysis and calculations to enhance production planning, ensuring optimal resource allocation and meeting customer demand.
- KPI Management: Support key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop action plans accordingly.
- Layout Design: Lead layout design to meet and align to lean strategies and Best-in-Class approach.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business, and other technology including materials.
- Other duties assigned.
- Works in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
- Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
- Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership skills in implementing productivity changes.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Familiar with Cause & Effect Diagram, 5 Why, & Pareto Principle.
- Understanding of basic Lean methodologies of Flow, Poka Yoke, & Heijunka.
- Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Documentation and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage many projects at one time.
- Minimum of eight (8) years related experience.
- Familiar with ISO quality system.
- Familiar with plant operation system.
- Have good knowledge in 6Sigma, SPC, FMEA, lean manufacturing.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education.
