A hospital in Abuja is looking to hire two Staff Nurses (BSc). The Staff Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans. Key Responsibilities: 1. Patient Assessment & Care Planning:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social factors.
- Develop, document, and modify patient care plans based on individual patient needs, ensuring personalized and holistic care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely, observing and reporting any side effects or adverse reactions.
- Conduct wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures as needed, adhering to established standards and protocols.
- Monitor patient progress, record observations, and communicate significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment options, discharge instructions, and home care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance, helping patients and families understand the care process.
- Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless, coordinated approach to patient care.
- Actively participate in patient care team meetings, sharing insights and advocating for patient needs.
- Adhere to all infection control protocols, including sterilization and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure that all patient interactions and care activities meet legal and regulatory standards, as well as hospital policies.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Maintain clear, timely, and organized records, ensuring seamless communication with the healthcare team.
- Stay informed on nursing best practices, healthcare advancements, and policy updates.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, attending training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
- Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSc) from an accredited institution.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Prior experience in [specific area, e.g., emergency care, pediatrics, or surgical care] is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of nursing protocols, healthcare regulations, and clinical practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic approach to patient care.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make swift, sound decisions in emergencies.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
