Responsible Business Network Coordinator

Lincoln Envirotown Trust - Selwyn District, Canterbury, New Zealand Part-Time We are looking for a person to coordinate the Responsible Business Network and Award Scheme for all areas of Selwyn. This scheme encourages and supports local businesses to become more environmentally aware and involved with their communities, supported by the Selwyn District Council. This will be a part-time contract position. The role involves communicating with the businesses of Selwyn on their sustainable practices and community involvement. The job is extremely varied in its scope with the work undertaken independently, working with the Lincoln Envirotown Project Manager and Coordinator who provide administrative support. The person appointed will be expected to develop strong ties with businesses through direct contact and social media. The coordinator will determine how the network is developed, with an expectation of making presentations to business groups, visiting businesses, and showcasing good practices via social media. The person appointed needs to be well organized and self-motivated; possess oral and written language skills, as well as a genuine passion for Environmental Sustainability and Community. This year is an Awards year, and you will be leading a team to assess businesses on their sustainability and community involvement. You will also assist in organizing a large Awards Evening at the end of October. Full training will be provided in this aspect of the role. The full contract in 2024 will carry a total of 10 hours per week (on average) commitment. The contract is set to run from April to December, but we are hoping that circumstances will allow us to offer a further contract to give the position some degree of permanence. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Dave for more details by phone 03 423 0445 or email projectmanagerlet@gmail.com. Please email a covering letter, a short CV, and contact details of two referees to reach Dave by Monday 11th March.
