We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join either our Auckland or New Plymouth team. With offices in Auckland, Whangarei, Tauranga, Hawkes Bay, New Plymouth, Wellington and Christchurch, you can choose the location that best matches your lifestyle. As a Senior Electrical Engineer , you will complete tasks such as leading concept studies, preparing cost estimates, front-end design, detailed engineering design, developing subcontractor scopes, commissioning, and reporting to clients on various brownfields and greenfield projects.What You’ll Do
- Provide technical leadership to the engineering and design team.
- Help to drive a culture of ‘doing it right first time’ and delivering practical engineering solutions.
- Hands-on design opportunities and the chance to utilise your business development and mentorship skills.
- Collaborate with other disciplines on a variety of projects.
What You’ll Bring
- Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor of Engineering (NZCE / NZDE / BE or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering.
- New Zealand work experience.
- Progression towards CPEng registration in New Zealand.
- Extensive knowledge of the fundamental requirements of electrical engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ETAP, CYMCAP, PowerFactory.
- Ideally, experience with software such as Smart Plant Electrical (SPE), Autodesk Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar design packages.
- Ideally have site experience (construction and commissioning).
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
- Specific types of skills include:
- HV switchyard Primary and Secondary Design.
- Electrical Protection Design.
- Electrical Balance of Plant Design for Solar, Wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
- Power System Analysis.
- Earthing Design.
- MV / LV Switchboard Design both Primary and Secondary.
- HV / MV Cable Design.
