We are seeking a motivated junior geotechnical engineer or geologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on diverse projects aimed at upgrading New Zealand’s infrastructure and building climate resilience for the future. You’ll have the chance to grow your skills, gain valuable experience, and access professional development opportunities within a supportive environment.About the Role
- Plan and carry out site investigations for projects such as slope instability, pipelines, landfills, and building foundations.
- Engineering geological model development, slope stability modelling, and liquefaction assessments.
- Remedial works design, construction supervision, and monitoring systems.
- Write technical reports.
- Develop capabilities to manage projects by coordinating subcontractors and liaising with regulators and client contacts.
- Service external clients directly or provide specialist input to projects across other PDP workgroups in the areas of slope instability, pipeline route selection/construction, foundations/dams/landfill, as well as wastewater reticulation, stormwater disposal, and landfills.
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Science or Engineering with geotechnical or geology specialisation
- 1-3 years’ experience involved in geotechnical projects including investigations, assessments, and reporting preferably in the consulting environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organisation skills.
- Experience in geotechnical software and GIS.
- Creative thinking to find innovative and sound solutions for our clients.
- A collegial, team-player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
