Mo te tūranga | About the Role: We are on the hunt for a Team Leader to join our Sanctions Operations team on a permanent basis. This Team sits within the wider Financial Crime Investigations Team and plays a vital role to protect ASB and its customers from the impact of Sanctions and other Financial Crime risks. You will lead one of the Sanction Operations Triage teams and be responsible for ensuring ASB Bank's compliance with various sanctions and financial crime obligations. This is an excellent career opportunity to make a real difference to the financial stability and protection of ASB's customers and New Zealand. This is an exciting and fast paced role that involves management of day-to-day workflow and smart use of resources to address volumes taking into account SLA's, risk appetite, and legislative deadlines. You will also:
  • Create a culture where the customer is at the heart of all our actions and implement change to meet internal and external customer expectations
  • Develop, promote and role model strong risk behaviors by understanding risks and identifying, managing, and escalating risks where appropriate
  • Obtain positive outcomes for customers and ensure customer centricity is at the forefront of all planning and process activity
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are adhered to in all of our operations.
Mōu |About you: We are ideally looking for someone with the following skills:
  • 5+ years' experience working within the financial services industry in either a Compliance or Financial Crime environment
  • Ability to lead a medium sized team, preferably within a Financial Crime Operations environment
  • People management expertise - ability to build relationships across functional lines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and quality decision making
