Job Description
- Prepare and submit accurate documentation required for customs clearance, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping details.
- Ensure all documents comply with local and international regulations.
- Stay updated on customs regulations and ensure adherence to laws regarding tariffs, taxes, and trade restrictions.
- Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and import/export companies to facilitate smooth clearance.
- Coordinate with internal teams, such as logistics and supply chain, to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Address and resolve issues or delays related to customs inspections or documentation errors.
- Manage disputes or penalties related to customs compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, including clearance status, costs, and compliance details.
- Generate reports on customs activities for internal audits or compliance reviews.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field.
- Knowledge of customs laws and trade regulations.
- Experience with customs clearance processes and systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in documentation and data management software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Certification in customs brokerage or international trade.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
- Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements and their implications.
