Job Description

Purpose of the Job: To lead the sustainability agenda of Danone Egypt and help reduce the impact of our operation on the surrounding environment, coordinate and streamline the diverse sustainability projects of the business, become the main source of data reporting and projects update, create new projects for sustainability in order to meet our aggressive sustainability targets, foster innovation to promote soil health, regenerative agriculture and biodiversity & climate resilience Principal Accountabilities:
  • Develop Danone Egypt’s sustainability roadmap including scope 1,2 and 3.
  • Support cross functional teams in defining programs that align with the Danone Impact Journey commitments, focusing on actions at site level, budgets, funding, partnerships, and impact quantification (particularly CO2 and methane). While climate action is a priority, biodiversity, water management, and soil health will also be key focuses in the roadmap.
  • Lead project review calls with cross functional teams, update DIJ progress trackers, risk & opportunities files, and budget. Monitor compliance with environmental and social standards,
  • Integrate sustainability goals into business processes.
  • Train employees on sustainability topics.
  • Prepare sustainability reports (reporting) and develop and implement sustainability strategies and programmes. 
  • Lead Danone Egypt’s B Corp certification.
  • Lead DanoneWay and embed the sustainability plan across different departments.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Assist colleagues responsible for other areas of sustainable sourcing such as: deforestation, regenerative agriculture (social dimension), diversity and inclusion in supply chain.
  • The candidate should have an engineering background from those disciplinaries: mechanical, civil or electrical.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience
  • Preferably with prior sustainability experience.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects from initiation to successful completion,with a focus on delivering results within set timelines and budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including farmers, suppliers, NGOs, and technical advisors, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills to establish meaningful KPIs and track the impact of sustainability including regenerative agriculture initiatives.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve program outcomes.
  • Strong financial skills to develop cost plans, assess ROI, and secure necessary funding for project implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
