Core Description

Responsible for the gathering and analysis of raw data to solve complex business problems and provide actionable insights in the guiding of strategic business strategies.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

• Gathering and acquiring data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and external data providers. • Applying statistical methods, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to analyse data and uncover patterns, trends, and relationships. • Creating visual representations of data, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to help stakeholders understand insights and make data-driven decisions. • Developing and deploying machine learning models to make predictions or classifications based on data. • Using statistical techniques to interpret data and validate models. • Working closely with business stakeholders to identify problems and opportunities where data can provide solutions. This often involves translating business questions into data-related queries and experiments. • Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner

Minimum Qualifications

NQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma in IT/Computer Science OR NQF 4: Grade 12

Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage

Experience

• Three (3) years working experience in data science, preferably with exposure to the full IT function.

OR

• Five (5) years working experience in data science, preferably with exposure to the full IT function.

Certifications

COMPTIA MCSE

Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry
