Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead with a strong background in Siemens Opcenter Discrete and Mendix to guide the technical aspects of a large-scale rollout project. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing Siemens Opcenter Discrete solutions, with a deep understanding of Mendix for low-code application development. As a key member of the project team, you will provide hands-on technical leadership, mentor a team of developers, ensure high-quality code delivery, and work closely with other architects, business analysts, and project managers to meet both business and technical objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Siemens Opcenter Discrete and Mendix-based solutions are delivered on time, meet business requirements, and are optimized for scalability, performance, and future growth. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of developers and engineers working on the implementation of Siemens Opcenter Discrete and Mendix solutions. Provide guidance and direction to ensure best practices are followed, code quality is maintained, and the team adheres to project timelines. System Architecture & Design: Collaborate with solution architects and business analysts to define the technical architecture and design of the Siemens Opcenter Discrete and Mendix applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements, industry standards, and system performance objectives. Solution Development: Oversee and participate in the hands-on development of customizations, configurations, and integrations within the Siemens Opcenter Discrete and Mendix platforms. Ensure that the solution is built for high scalability, security, and performance. Integration Management: Lead the integration of Siemens Opcenter Discrete with other enterprise systems such as ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), PLM, WMS, and external databases. Ensure seamless data flow across systems and maintain data integrity. Code Quality & Best Practices: Establish coding standards, review code, and ensure that development efforts meet quality and security guidelines. Provide ongoing code reviews and address performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities. Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting: Take ownership of resolving complex technical issues during the project lifecycle, including debugging, troubleshooting, and providing solutions to blockers related to Siemens Opcenter Discrete and Mendix applications. Agile Methodology: Drive Agile development processes, including sprint planning, task allocation, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Ensure efficient collaboration and clear communication within the development team and with other project stakeholders. Collaboration & Communication: Act as the technical point of contact for cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, quality assurance, and infrastructure teams. Communicate technical requirements and limitations effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Deployment & Rollout Support: Support the deployment of the solution, including production deployment, post-production support, and ensuring that all technical components are stable and performing as expected during the global rollout phase. Mentorship & Training: Mentor junior developers and technical team members, provide training on best practices for Siemens Opcenter Discrete and Mendix, and help cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the development team. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and troubleshooting guides. Ensure that knowledge is transferred effectively to internal teams for long-term system maintenance and support. Required Qualifications: Experience: At least 10 years of experience in a technical lead or senior development role working with Siemens Opcenter Discrete (formerly SIMATIC IT) and Mendix. Proven experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Production Management solutions, specifically in the context of Siemens Opcenter. Strong hands-on experience in low-code application development with Mendix, including platform configuration, app development, and deployment. Experience with integration techniques between MES (e.g., Siemens Opcenter), ERP, and other enterprise systems. Technical Skills: Deep understanding of the Siemens Opcenter Discrete platform, including modules such as Opcenter Manufacturing, Opcenter Quality, and Opcenter APS. Expertise in Mendix, with experience in both application development and system integrations. Strong knowledge of web technologies (e.g., RESTful APIs, JSON, XML) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Experience in database management (SQL, NoSQL) and knowledge of data migration. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor developers, and drive technical decision-making. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues related to system performance, integrations, and customizations. Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications (Desirable): Siemens Opcenter certification(s) or equivalent experience. Mendix Certified Advanced Developer or Mendix Certified Architect. PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in leading global MES rollouts or enterprise application implementations. Exposure to Industry 4.0 initiatives or IoT (Internet of Things) integrations within manufacturing systems. Experience working with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.
