This is a full, time permanent position which is based on our site in Watergrasshill, Cork. The trainer will work closely with their production teams and site training co-ordinator, providing a structured and progressive approach to training and development across the site. This position will provide a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop not only themselves but others across the business. **Please note this is a site based role, Monday-Friday** What to expect in the job?
- Guide new employees from their initial induction through to the successful completion of the departmental training program.
- Develop fresh standard operating procedures (SOPs) while reviewing and refining current SOPs.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance working methods and processes within the department.
- Provide foundational training for all newly hired departmental employees by following a comprehensive 12-week induction program.
- Regularly assess the progress of new employees throughout their basic training.
- Keep the departmental skills training matrix up to date and organized.
- Identify and address any skill gaps within the department.
- Conduct training sessions aimed at closing these identified skill gaps.
- Facilitate the delivery of compliance training programs.
- Assist in providing refresher courses for compliance training.
- Ensure that all personnel are well-informed on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), providing guidance to those who aren’t compliant.
- Champion and promote a strong health & safety culture throughout the site.
- 1+years experience working in a simular training position is essential.
- Ability to deliver 1-1 training in a clear, structured, and supportive manner.
- Departmental knowledge such as knife skill and cuts of meat is preferable but not essential.
- Must have be fluent in English, if also fluent in Portuguese it would be beneficial
- Ability to demonstrate good communication skills such as listening and questioning techniques to evaluate the trainee’s knowledge and understanding of the task being trained.
- Willingness to undergo courses such as train the trainer, manual handling, first aid and fire warden.
